I have a AMD A8 6600k and was wondering if it would work smoothly with a Sapphire RX 480 if I disable my onboard graphics

Your APU is 100w. The Rx 480 is 150w +70 watts for your motherboard. I'm sure you could run it if your PSU is high quality but if ever want to OC you do not have the Wattage.

Depends on the game, pretty much any game should be capable or running smoothly at the right settings with that setup. You may see a bit of cpu bottlenecking in very cpu heavy games but at the right settings they should still run smoothly none the less.

you should certainly ovetclock youre cpu to not hold back the rx480 but for youre cpu 6600 much better configuration would be the videocard rx 470 8gb this card will be used much more wit youre overclocked cpu font forget about the cooler for cpu
