Power Line Adapters

I want to move my PC into my room, so I don't get distracted by noises as easily. If I'm going to move it, I'll lose access to the lan cable, because it's too far away. So I need an alternative way to get a connection.

I heard of electrical adapters, but how good are they compared to a wired connection? My network speed is 30 up, 7 down. Would I get the same speeds with an electrical connection?

The distance between the router and the room is about 15 feet, same elevation.

Or would a regular network adapter just work better?

Or would it be best to run the wire through the ceiling corners, and through the door?

Is there an electrical adapter that would give me the same speeds as wired, and work just fine? Is it possible to stay under $65?

Solution
Performance, decreasing:
Ethernet cable (Cat5e)
Powerline or MOCA
Far below....WiFi.

If there is any way to run a Cat5e, do that.

I disagree. Unless you are using two new AC units for a media bridge, AV1200 powerline is far more stable and low latency with better data rates at anything over a trivial distance.

And I agree that Ethernet cable is still much better than other alternatives if feasible (so the answer is no, nothing else will give you the quality of Ethernet even at just 15 feet).
