Most motherboard fan headers are safe with two fans. Max load for the header is usually 1 amp. Putting 3 fans on one header might overload it, depending on the fans' current rating. You can always connect one fan directly to any Molex connector from the PSU with an adapter. But of course the fan will always run at full RPM.
