My computer is using windows 7 on a Asus Z87-PLUS motherboard. I am installing the exact Ethernet driver from the Asus website listed for my motherboard, but somehow it gives me this error.
Try clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a minute).
If still the same, it might be a defective adapter. An option would be installing a PCIe adapter.

I've already reset my CMOS before not sure if doing it again is going to fix it. I think the problem is on software level. Is there a way to reset all drivers or uninstall the drivers that I put in?

Try reinstalling Windows, or restoring the system to a previous date, but I don't think that it's software related. I think that the adapter is not functioning.

Alright I reset my computer to before installing all my drivers, now the network adapter has appeared with an Intel(R) Gigabit Network Controller with the yellow exclamation point
Ya same issue. I'll try it again after work. I'm pretty sure I understand why its not working, i'll do one more system restore when I get home and go about it a different way.
