WD 1TB Blue

Hello, I have recently bought a new WD Blue 1 TB Hard drive for my computer after my old one stopped working. I have made sure that all cables are correctly plugged in and i have swapped the sata cables from my working ssd. I have also send back two other of the same hard drives that i thought were faulty but it doesn't look the case.

I thought the problem might be with my motherboard such as it not liking the second sata device.

Hey there again, @Badger444!

You should be able to find those on the official website of your motherboard manufacturer. Find your motherboard model there. Under Support, you should be able to see a tab with Drivers & Tools, where you need to select the Windows OS version that you are using. Once you do that, you should be able to see all the drivers & tools available. The Chipset & SATA ones usually are listed separately. Make sure you follow the installation instructions from the motherboard manual, if you need assistance with it.

Hope this works. Keep me posted! :)

Welcome, @Badger444!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Blue drive and your mobo. You have done a good job with the troubleshooting, though! I'd suggest you manually re-install your SATA controller & chipset drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's official website and see if there are any updates on the BIOS version. Beforehand, you could also try resetting BIOS, if you haven't done this already. Hopefully, it will help you detect the secondary HDD properly. If you have access to another computer, try the hard drive there to make sure that it's not the source of the issue.

Give these a try and let me know how it goes!
