i have a CM6870 motherboard, from AsusTeK, and im having trouble trying to find out if it will be able to support a gtx 1070, or if i will have to buy a new one. Any help is much appreciated!!

Solution
If you got a 390 to fit and run, the 1070 will have no problem whatsoever. It's roughly the same size, draws less power and puts out less heat.

Go ahead and throw it in there.

i actually have a 650 W power supply i upgraded that already, as well i have a R9 390 in it so i know it has enough power, i might need a new case because of the size, what do you think?

If you have a full length PCI Express slot, then any modern day video card will work. Even if your motherboard were to have PCIe 2.0, todays video cards would still work, but be anywhere from 2% to 5% slower than if the PCIe slot is 3.0.

I attempted to download the manual for that system, but I could not get it to copmplete the download, depite trying about 15 times.

But on Newegg, checking the specs there, there was no mention of any slots on that motherboard at all. It simply lists a GT 620 GPU, and the letters "PCI" are nowhere on that page. If it had them, they would most certainly be there. It is very uncommon to find a system without anty PCI Express slots, but companies can order custom board without features to save a few cents here and there. And it appears that this might have happened in this case.
