Two Front I/O Panels?

I have a PC that I keep well off to my right and down near my feet, relative to my desk. I recently bought a new case, but have salvaged the front panel and connected HDD hotswap cage from my old one. My question is:
Has anyone stripped and combined the leads for two front I/O panels and attached the leads to the motherboard header (Power SW, Reset SW, Power LED, etc)
The ideal end result would be a sleek panel near my mousepad with a hotswap cage and a secondary set of Power and Reset buttons. Doable? Or are there a million voltage/amperage reasons why this can't be done? Thank you!
Edit: I'm a fair hand at soldering and insulating, so it wouldn't be a slapdash setup.

there's no issue with that, the LED connectors will run two LEDS, I've done that before. The power SW and reset SW are just momentary switches that create a short when contacted, so no problem there at all.

I have all of the cords still intact from the old case, so I should be square there, but crucially, I'd like to know that if I stripped the Power SW from two different front panels and soldered them together to pin into the single Power SW header on the motherboard, both panels would work and not melt/short each other. Likewise Reset SW and LED +/- cords.
