USB Controller issue... (I think, at least... This one's got me stumped.)

Summery: I have a Logitech Unified wireless receiver (mouse & keyboard) and a wired Logitech XBox360 controller, in rear USB ports. Built this gaming rig a year or so ago, but all smooth sailing until this started a few weeks ago. When everything is plugged in, and I use the mouse & keyboard just fine. If I use the controller, though, after 5-15 minutes, all my USB devices stop working. All still has power though (lights, toggle buttons light on and off, etc.) Restarting doesn't fix it, unless I unplug the AC or hit the killswitch on the PSU for a second. Then it's back to 'normal'.

So that's the gist. To expand: I can use the controller for short stints just fine; it only seems to happen when I'm playing a game like Fallout 4, Skyrim, etc.

I'm a desktop tech, so I'm not usually this helpless at a problem.

Thanks!

PS Here the specs for my rig:

  • ■ Intel Core i5 3570K
    ■ Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Motherboard
    ■ 16 GB (4x4GB) DDR3 Memory
    ■ NVIDIA GeForce GTX-650, 2GB Graphics Card

Solution
It's worth a shot. Even sharing the load round two different ports on the back. A separate block could have a different power suppply and another controller.

was kinda figuring that might be it. Or heat-related damage. The front USB isn't working, the jumper cable got damaged at some point. Now I have a reason to go replace the wire finally.
