i have a water-cooled cpu that has been running at 100c at idle and no overclock. The pump is moving water threw the radiator, but the radiator is cold. Task manager says that i am only using 6% of my cpu, but another program says that I am using 60-100% of my cpu at idle. A few days ago it was running WAY cooler then that and barely any cpu load. If any one could help, that would be great!

If your Rad fans are working you can try to remount it 1st but I think your pump has gone bad. That being said it don't cost you much to remount it cuss your going to have to buy TIM anyway.

I have had this computer for a little while and haven't had any problems. It is very fast i wouldn't think that some extra programs would slow it down. I will check anyway.

I deleted some more programs that i found. Now the load on cpu is 1-10% at basically idle. Do I have to worry about 45-50c idle? A few days ago the cpu was much cooler then it is now.

Download prime95 and post your under load Temps. If they are over 80C you have a problem with your TIM,Heatsink mounting or CPU fan.

"Is the fan on the CPU running? Do a visual of the heatsink and check the mounting. If the CPU fan is Running check the RPM ether in your Bios or with speedfan. Then if your fans RPM's check out good you will need to reapply thermal paste and remount your CPU heatsink. So buy some TIM and rubbing alcohol. Clean the old TIM off with the Rubbing alcohol then reapply TIM and remount.

How to apply TIM

I use a program called SpeedFan, which is a free download, to track my CPU usage and temperature. It has helped me immensely when it comes to tracking my CPU and making attempts to cool it down. Here's a link to the download: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

And also, yes, I agree with the other poster here. Check for malware, and possibly delete programs you never use. Lighter load tends to equal a cooler CPU.

I am using Hwmonitor and its well over 80c at idle. I have an all in one water cooler, the fan on the radiator is spinning, i can feel warmer water running threw one of the hoses then the other one, the radiator is room temp, the cpu block is very warm.

i can feel a slight vibration but can't hear anything. I wouldn't think its the pump because one hose is warm(going in) and the other is slightly colder(coming from radiator)
