SC model uses reference PCB design with custom cooling solution and modified bios.
The FTW model is a custom PCB design with better power delivery circle.
If you are not into overclocking SC is good option.
As for the overclocking, so far, every 1070/1080 are not going much beyond 2100MHz on air and liquid and the benefit from advanced power circle seems to be small (slightly lower temperature, a bit cleaner power, may be better lifespan).
