Hi people, I was browsing gpus, and I know that Nvidia pascal is out but I found a 980ti that was discounted 32% to 582 aud or around 440 us dollars. Is this discounted price of this 980ti worth it or should I just buy a 1070 for 150 australian dollars more instead? Thanks!

Solution
If the 1070 is 100$ more and you do not care about VR I would get the 980ti. The 1070 is 10% faster in 1080p and 1-3% faster in 1440p. The 980ti uses 100watts more power but when Overclocked will be faster then a 1070 until Modded firmware comes out for the 1070.

I bought a MSI armor 1070 and was only able to get +80 core and +180 Memory. So a Decent OCed 980ti would beat my 1070.

So you will have to decided if your going to OC your GPU and if you are is the added db's from cooling the Extra watts on the 980ti worth it for the performance.

Ok I will keep that in mind. I am buying the MSI Armor ones too.

I would not put it pass MSi to test the boards and if they clock well slap the gaming x on them and all the low performers get thrown in the Armor pile. I was pretty pissed but I got what I paid for.

I researched a bit and the 3DMark score for the 1070 stock is only about 5% better than the 980 ti. I think I will stick to the older card because I think it is a waste of $150 for only 5% gain.

I sold my 980ti and bought 1070. The main advantage on buying 1070 is you get way lower gpu temp,my old matrix980ti was reaching 83c(On max fan) on 4k OC 1500 compare to 1070 OC 2100 and only reaching 60c(On max fan). 1070 is slightly faster than 980ti based on the game i play(BO3) around 2%-5% higher. You can easily snap 1070 from amazon for under $630 AUD shipped to your home, but you will have to wait around 14 days for shipping or upgrade to express post for $30AUD extra.
