Hello!
I just sold my r9 270 graphics card the other day to get a new graphics card (hopefully the GTX 1060) and until the 19th of July, or whenever the aftermarket cards come out, I am forced to use integrated graphics!
This, sadly, isn't as fun and exciting as I thought. In fact, I have come across many issues which I hope you can help me resolve.
Let me start with some of my computer's specs: AMD FX6300, ASUS M5A78L-M LX3, 8GB RAM, Windows 10.
To start with, the resolution output by the computer does not match my 1440x900p monitor. I'm not sure if it's a VGA thing (although it should be able to handle it). I am currently at 1280x1024 which is less than ideal, but there are some bigger problems.
One of which is drivers. I didn't realise you need additional drivers for integrated graphics, but apparently it is so. I went to AMD's website and put in my system specs, but there was no Windows 10 option for me. I downloaded the Windows 8 version and installed it, and rebooted. But to no avail, in device manager, the only display adapter listed is Microsoft's own. There is the "AMD vision engine control centre" when I right click on the desktop, but there is nothing about graphics in there.
I then assumed it must have been the wrong driver, so this time I downloaded the autodetect utility, and this is what I got: http://imgur.com/mpSaRux Is this a windows 10 thing? Do you need to uninstall microsoft basic drivers before installing AMD drivers? Will I be stuck until I get a graphics card? Is the GTX 1060 going to be any good anyway? Should I just get a RX 480 today?
Thanks
