Hello.

I am planning to build a new pc. Since my current one is getting old, and can't run modern games in good quality anymore.
I am gaming and using it as a workstation. I am using the computer about 2-4 hours every day.

I haven't choosen all my computer components yet, but my question is if I can reuse my old PSU for my new build.

It is the:
cooler master silent pro gold 1200w
(http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/silent-pro-gold/silent-pro-gold-1200w/)

It is about 4-5 years old, and have been used for about 5-6 hours every day.

The reason I ask is if you guys/girls think it will be a good ideer to get a new PSU, if you think this "old" one can damage the new hardware I am getting.

You ought to be able to. The PSU is not great, but it's not like some of the bottom-end Cooler Master PSUs that circulate around. It has concerning issues with ripple at high loads, but it's quite difficult for a PC without an exotic configuration to use that amount of power. In your shoes, I'd personally get a new PSU on one of the rock-solid platforms available these days with an output that is geared to my build, but it's absolutely not an imperative to replace that PSU unless you have real reasons to believe it's malfunctioning.
