I bought this CPU cooler 3 years ago and it was working fine until a few months ago. It works perfectly fine when the PC is idle but when playing certain video games the fan will become noticeably loud.

I cleared my PC from dust and it helped make it less noisy but it can still get loud when running video games. The CPU temperature when running these games was about 40-50C, but I might have to check it again.

Computer Specs: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, AMD FX-8350.

One thing to note is that the 125W FX-8350 processor is actually overpowering the Hyper212Evo cooler. You can try and undervolt the CPU and see if any changes come about. Another thing to note is to remove your CPU cooler and inspect if the thermal paste has dried up though do note that you're going to need a tube of thermal paste handy since you can't reuse the TIM on the cooler. It's highly possible that in 3 years the amount of dust and lint accumulated in the fan's motor housing and is the source of your noise.

We'd need your full system's specs before giving a detailed response. Might I ask if you've made sure that the noise is coming from the CPU coolers fan and not another component? It can also take place when a stray cable is...
