Hi guys! I've had a prebuilt PC from a company named FiercePC for a while now ( around 7-8 months maybe) and it has been working fine.

This morning I was just on facebook and curse(a messaging service) and my computer completely froze. I had to turn my computer off and then back on again..

When I turned it back on, temps was around 15 degrees at idle, but it just kept going up and up and up, eventually until 63 degrees idle after about 10 minutes.(I checked this using Core Temp which is usually reliable for me) and when i felt the back of the computer, it was really hot so i believe it is at 63 degrees and not inaccurate.

My CPU is AMD athlon x4 860k with stock cooling. I never had this problem before and i've emailed their support team but it will probably be a while until they reply. Could you guys assist?

Is the fan on the CPU running? Do a visual of the heatsink and check the mounting. If the CPU fan is Running check the RPM ether in your Bios or with speedfan. Then if your fans RPM's check out good you will need to reapply thermal paste and remount your CPU heatsink. So buy some TIM and rubbing alcohol. Clean the old TIM off with the Rubbing alcohol then reapply TIM and remount.

How to apply TIM

Thank you for your answer, yes, the CPU fan is running. I will check the RPM tomorrow when I wake up but if that doesnt fix it i'll just have to wait as I dont want to break the warranty on the computer (simply opening the case voids it in my case) and end up paying for replacement parts. once again, thank you.
