Hi,

Was just wondering if anyone knows how these 2 cards compare. From what I have read the GTX 1060 is the better of the 2 cards as it is giving GTX 980 performance, whereas the RX 480 is closer to the GTX 970. Is this correct?

I have also read that the RX 480 has power consumption issues if you start overclocking, is this true?

From reviews I have read the GTX 1060 is the better option but I have heard that this is not true for most games running Direct X 12 and that the AMD card performs better at higher resolutions. Is this just a myth or is there any substance to it?

Thanks

Wait about a week or so for the first GTX 1060 reviews. With DirectX 12, there aren't any good games out right now to give a fair gauge of what's to come. About the only thing we know for sure is that the GTX 1060 will be able to do PhysX and the RX 480 won't.

There are probably just bits of truth in these rumours. To know the truth and real comparison we need benchmarks of AIB RX480 vs GTX1060, both overclocked to the max. The only thing we know for sure now is that at high clocks RX480 uses more total power.
