Hey Guys

I recently bought all my components which according to PC part picker are all ok. I have been curious about build a PC for ages. I put all my components together turned on the PC and it started!! However in all the videos ive seen and all the discussions ive read, the next step should have been the mobo BIOS screen. This did no happen. Instead I got a black screen which said somthing like "could not boot please insert bootable software media press any key to continue" it was a bit longer than that i just cant remember exactly what it said and when i pressed a key the same message popped up again. I had created a windows 10 bootable USB (from microsoft website) so i inserted this turned it on and it allowed me to install windows 10. I did not enter a product key but i somehow got onto the desktop. I was not logged in to my Microsoft account but it allowed me to get on the net and install things.......
Something doesnt seem right with this. Can someone tell me where i went wrong?

Solution
Only wrong I can see there is that windows are not activated. You need to purchase W10 license to activate it. It will start reminding you and gradually deteriorate to the edge of usability.
As for the part when it asked for boot device is because your HDD didn't have any OS on it, they come empty when new,

hey, Thanks for that

Yes it was a new SSD which would of been empty. I just thought it would of gone straight to the BIOS first and then I install windows. Should I have booted the PC with out the SSD installed first?
