i had a computer given to me what i want to know i cant find info on.
The computer has an old Asrock N68-s mobo
i need to know if it is safe to use a 700w power supply so i can put a better graphics card into it

the Asrock website has the mobo still on the site but has no details on the power supply that it can use

Solution

Oh. Well then, the PSU will indeed work with your setup. The actual quality of that power supply, though, I cannot know.

sure can. just make sure that the 8pin power connector actually splits into a 4+4 (nearly all do, but just in case)

the board and components will only pull as much power as they need, so you won't be shoving more into it just because you have an overkill PSU

i just want to make sure because i do not want to fry the motherboard by pushing too much wattage through it.

the specs are asrock n68-s mobo
AMD phenom x4 processor

the graphics card i want to install is a spare i have laying around
Sapphire Radeon HD5850 and it requires 2 6pin connectors to power it
the 700w power supply i have has that built into it so i just wanted to make sure it was safe

What is the model of this power supply? Look for the label on it.

yes without the adapters its built into it

thats why i bought it so that i could use it in another computer with that graphics card but the other motherboard was screwed since the person before me tried to flash the bios on it and now it wont power on anymore

What do you mean "without the adapter builds into it"? Are you saying the power supply does not have the requires PCIe cables for the graphics card and are using converter cables instead?

Honestly, if it doesn't have the necessary cables, it is usually a sing that PSU is not up for the job.
