Hey, I'm having a problem since rebuilding my system, hope you can help!
I migrated the system to a new case and changed the CPU cooler. I am also current missing a GPU. No other modifications made. But since doing so I cannot be any output from the system whatsoever through the DVI on the motherboard (which admittedly is untested).
The CPU cooler fan is operational only when the 4 pin CPU power is connected (without that it spins once then stops), so it seems like the CPU is correctly seated.
I tried testing for any audio output, and can't hear anything but then I always muted the damn thing XD. However, the headphones do make that give away popping sound, though only when the boot SSD is connected - which seems like a good sign?
Everything seems correctly connected, though I have tried reinserting each component to be sure.
Resetting the CMOS didn't do anything.
I have a suspicion that the problem would be resolved the moment I dropped a GPU back in there, especially since I already know the VGA out on the motherboard to not be working (though I have no idea about the DVI or what would cause either of these to fail). But I would REALLY rather be more sure before buying the GPU.
The system:
- Jonsbo G3 case
- Intel 4790
- Noctua L-Series cooler
- Asus B85M-F PLUS motherboard
- 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 (2x 8GB HyperX Fury)
- Generic 500W PSU (tested and working fine)
- 120GB Galaxy SSD
- No GPU (last seen working with a GTX960)
(don't get too worked up over some of the brands, I am in China XD)
There is no output whatsoever from the DVI ("check signal"). The motherboard lights up and the headphones pop (when SSD is connected).
Any ideas?
