This is my very first PC build. Everything is working fine but for some reason the only way I can get my computer to boot is if I only have one stick of RAM inserted. I tried both sticks one at a time and they both work so it's not the sticks. As soon as I try to use both at the same time the computer will power on but it won't display anything on my monitor. I don't know what the problem could be. My motherboard is a ASROCK H170A-X1

Model number is F4-2400C15D-16GVR. I'm using an Intel i5 6600k with the cooler master hyper 212. The slots are labeled starting closest to the CPU A1-A2-B1-B2. I'm using A2 and B2. Yes I do have the lasted BIOS

I can't use the A1 slot because I'm using the cooler master hyper 212 and it covers my A1 slot. I can't get my RAM card in there.

In that case, try loosening the cooler then snug it down screw tight (slot 1 may actually be fine - also with the EVO simply remove the fan insert the DRAM in slot 1 and replace the fan just high enough to clear the fan - it won't have any ill affects on cooling and can see if slot 1 is working), the cooler may be too tight in a corner or side which can throw the MC (memory controller) off

I got the ram stick into slot A1. I tried both orientations of A1-B1 and A1-A2. Still doesn't work. It does work however when I only have one ram stick in A1. So now I know that my ram slots work I just have no idea why the computer won't work when I have to in there.
