Hi all,

I have a HP Pavilion HPE h8-1227 Desktop PC and my motherboard has recently died. I have replaced my old motherboard with a new Asus P8H61-M LE CSM R2.0. The motherboard works fine on my old HP case with my old HP components (CPU Intel i5-3450, 1600 MHz RAM, HDD, etc.). However, my chassis fan is running at full speed from PC start. It is currently running ~3600 RPM and it is making an incredible amount of noise. The chassis fan is a 3-pin fan and the Asus motherboard has a 3-pin fan connector on it. It fits as expected. My problem is the noise it makes and the fact that it runs at 100% all the time. My BIOS does not allow me to set the speed for the chassis fan anywhere (BIOS Asus version 1414 which is the latest). I have Asus Ai Suite 2 and this program also has no control over the chassis fan speed. I have tried installing Asus Ai Suite 3 but that is not supported by my motherboard and so it does not run (i.e. I see an error message saying my components do not support that software). Could someone please help my with this issue?

System Info: Windows 7 Professional x64 (Currently upgrading to Windows 10 Pro x64)
RAM: 8 Gb Samsung 1600 MHz

Thank you,

Yeah CHA is for your case fans. See if your motherboard has any PWM connectors on it, I couldn't tell from the motherboards description or the picture. The other option if you don't have that connector would be to get a low noise adapter, or a low rpm fan.
