Im using the stock fan and im not overclocking, I did not apply any thermal paste as there where three stripes of thermal paste on the cooler, in overwatch i get about 75 degrees max, and in bf4 i get 75-90 degrees (celcius) , is this normal. i did not smear out the thermal paste or anything. is it becouse i have a itx case? i have the Cooler master elite 120 case. Plz help!!!!

Solution
bruh get an aftermarket cpu cooler. Yes, those load temps are not unexpected for stock intel coolers (small heatsink, no heatpipes, inefficient heat dissipation through small fan). If you get a 212 evo, load temps will drop down to 20 C compared to the stock fan cooler.

If u invest in more money, like the cryorig h5, u can drop it further down several more degrees. Do you ever wonder why people who do pc case mods are always enthusiastic about [liquid] cooling and such? Because they care about temperature ranges due to overclocking and long hours of gaming. If you are going into gaming, you need extra cooling solutions - otherwise you'll eventually overheat your components...

i did remove the case cover like that, and in msi afterburner it said it was cpu temperature. i live in norway and the temps outside right now are about 20 degrees.

He can not get an 212 - look at the case - he needs a low profile air cooler or something like Arctic Liquid Freezer 120 (or 240 if there a place for it)

@BruneRunar - than it's still quite high. a bad mounting might be the reason. so at least try to remount the cooler. better with new thermal paste.
Since your temperatures dropped significantly after removing the case cover, seems like there is not enough airflow in the case.
An AiO kit like the Arctic Liquid Freezer 120 ( 240 will require some creativity to fit it) would be an ideal solution
