My Radio Programming Software which only runs in DOS and Win 98, XP gives me the following message "are more than 20 K disk space free?" I am using a Universal Praogramming Interface which finished this week. Did a cable interface LoopBack test and result is 100% working, so nothing wrong with Interface...

Solution
Hi all! So figured out what the problem was. had nothing to do with DOS or the type of file system i was using. As i said i am new to building interfaces and programming radios. The guy i got the Radio from (he previously programmed this Radio) forgot to unlock the radio for security reasons, that is why my software couldn't read from the F310. Fortunate for me he still had the .ICF file for my radio. All working now. Interface works on 4 radios thus far. Thanks for your replies

Oops! Sorry. So how do i get rid of this message (Are more than 20K disk space free?) or what does it mean, if i have an 80 Gig H/Drive.
Os = Win XP PRO Service pack 3
RAM = 512

Seems that the program installer is trying to verify that you have sufficient space to install the program. As this is an older DOS application, it may not be able to read the XP file system to determine space availability itself. DOS worked with FAT file systems, and you are likely using NTFS on your XP system.

I'll dig around a bit to see if there is an easy work around for you.

What kind of radio are you programming? Looking for alternatives for you now. It may be possible to find a more current, compatible tool, but we need to know about the specifics of what exact application you are using now and the device you are programming.
