CFX my RX 480, Wait for Vega or go back to a GTX 1080?

So a good 2 weeks ago, I sold my rig containing:
i7 4790k
16gb of 2133mhz DDR3
1x GTX 1080
Antec Kühler something something CPU Cooler

I then "downgraded" to a pc with the following:
i7 6700k
16gb 3200mhz DDR4
Radeon RX480
Corsair H110i 280mm CPU Cooler.

So it's obviously a HUGE downgrade in GPU power, but I've grown a bit tired of the nvidia "fuck with the customer" campaign that have been trending for a while now.
However, I'm still a bit of a performance enthusiast, and I'm having a slight regret selling the 1080. It worked well, and delivered awesome FPS in 1440p - but as mentioned, I doubt nvidia will have that card run optimally for more than 2 years or so.
My question is: Should i Crossfire my 480? (With aftermarket coolers ofc), or should i wait for Vega?
I have an Asus MG278q 144hz 2560x1440 Freesync display. The single 480 does fairly well for a card it's price in 1440p, but I'd like to get a bit more horsepower.
Anyone else with experience from CFX 480's? I'd love some feedback!

Well if you want to stick with AMD then getting the aftermarket versions would be a better choice since they will run cooler and be factory overclocked. The Sapphire Nitro editions are typically really good but because of the usual 3 fan setup there very large.

I know most ppl (including myself) will recommend a single better GPU for gaming but the RX 480 in CF is actually performing better at 4K then a single GTX 1080. At 1440P the FPS is close, if you don't mind the additional power consumption, heat, have a compatible MB and have a PSU powerful enough to run 480 CF then you could always try it as it's a much cheaper option over the 1080 ($460-$700).

I have seen awesome scaling from the 480, and since I'm considering going for the aftermarket CFX 480's like the Sapphire models.
I'm really torn between these options. 1070 is a nogo imo.

I was aware of the Nitro and it looks pretty awesome. Some say news with release and so on will be on July 13th - so maybe something interesting happens.
