Asus laptop international warranty

Hi, do laptops sold by Asus usa come with international warranty. I am purchasing laptop from usa but live in India. When I check international warranty on usa page I am redirected to Asus India page, and it says that "notebooks sold by Asus India have international warranty (free of cost)". I want to know if it's true the other way around, i.e., laptop sold in usa come with international warranty and whether I have to pay for it ?

They delegate that to regional offices, you should contact them first.

I wrote an email to them mentioning that I am purchasing from Asus' online store. They answered : "You should ask the retailer before purchase about international warranty and that to it varies from model to model."

they are correct, warranty is specific to model and purchase location; for example, the same model may not be covered if purchased online, etc

why not visit a local asus store and inquire first

Edit: in any case, you will pay for the warranty either directly or indirectly

I cannot visit Asus store, I will purchase it online and someone returning to India will bring it for me. As I said, Asus' India website clearly mentions a global warranty (no charge mentioned) irrespective of model or place of purchase, I thought it might be the same for Asus usa too. And yes, hp provides international warranty free of cost on all models irrespective of place of purchase, only condition being that the particular product is marketed in the other country. So I wanted to know if it was true for Asus, but it looks like it's not.
