Merreck :
i havent had the chance to check up on the Lan issue, but that should be solved with drivers and finding the right one, i personally bought the ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming, and asides that there is a tiny price difference (within 5-15 euros/dollars, here in the netherlands) many suggest that the Pro Gaming is considered better. However beware, it seems like a bad batch of Pro Gaming motherboards (cant say the same for any other of the ASUS models) has been released (in my experience, too the retailer of my motherboard(s) im not suggesting its a worldwide phenoma, i think it was my horrible luck ) as i have recieve atleast 2 factory fresh motherboards with substantial damage to them, and a third refurbished unit with also plenty of deep scratches and marks...
at any rate this serves as an advice, when purchasing motherboards online, which ever you choose, on arrival open it, and document what you find and make pictures, and really look at your Motherboard to check for damages before you start installing it (as the debate sparks when trying to return it, whether you made any of these damages during installation)
Hey, thanks for the info.
Been wondering about the issues and feedbacks from customers.
Good thing that you are not experiencing difficulties with your z170 pro gaming.
Your motherboard is not yet available in my local store though. I usually avoid ordering online with some pc parts although I did some with power supplies lately.
What can you say about the gigabyte?
too be honest, very little about the gigabyte boards... ive only purchased ASUS motherboards, im more trying to advocate you on the whole act of buying a Motherboard. and considering you are going to buy instore, im sure the sales representative wouldnt mind if you opened your product in the store itself and inspect it together with the sales representative, a good store will usually allow you to do it before purchasing the unit, but even a bad one cant deny your findings if you show them in store, right after you purchase it... if they do cheap you out and said you bought it as is, then you've been properly ripped.
however online purchases are usually legally protected to help the consumer, considering you are buying a 100% working product you are legally entitled to get one as such. think of it as a car, you buy a new car, you expect it to be new, it may work but if you buy a new one and it has dent or a scratch you are entitled to a replacement. The car may even be working, but its not what you paid for... which is why online sales are actually pleasant in some sense because you can return it without having to give any reasons at all for its return, for a FULL REFUND (except shipping it back to them, if its not defect) if you return within 14 days of its purchase. Be mindfull these are DUTCH LAWS, they can be very different in your country.
