Need an Matx Overclockable MOBO with two case fan plug in slots

Hi guys,

I recently bought the Gigabyte Z97-DS3H to match with my new i5-4690k, but I have noticed that the MOBO only has one plug in slot for a case fan which isn't ideal as I'm getting unhealthy temperatures when gaming as I have no exhaust fan or after market cooler.

Is it worth paying for another MOBO with two case fan plug in slots or getting an aftermarket cooler and a better fan. If so, any recommendations for a MATX MOBO with LG 1150 socket that can handle a CPU overclock.

All help is appreciated, thanks

What case do you have?

Worth is something only YOU can determine, but I see no reason to change out your motherboard.

If you will Overclock, then buy a simple tower type cooler with a 120mm fan such as the $30 cryorig H7.

The stock Intel cooler can be tricky to install.
A poor installation will result in higher cpu temperatures.
If properly mounted, you should expect temperatures at idle to be 10-15c. over ambient.
Are all 4 pushpins through the motherboard and locked?
If you nudge the cooler, does it wiggle?

Unless you want control, or at the minimum RPM, you can just install fans and power them directly with the power supply. Or buy a fan controller or splitter. No sense spending all that time and effort to swap a motherboard to gain a fan header.

Also, if you intend overclocking, why don't you have an aftermarket cooler?

I've got an aftermarket cooler, just haven'#t installed it yet, could you link me this controller/splitter + how do you link them to the PSU?

I have the Coolermaster Silencio 352 with a CoolerMaster Hyper T4 cooler as its the only one that fits the case

Just google fan splitter or fan controller. There are many out there and all have different capabilities like PWM fan control with LCD displays, to simple resistive banks. Splitters are just wires that turn one fan header into two.
