in the specs page it says that it requires 500 watt or greater, should i buy a new one?, if so what should i buy?
It's not just about advertised wattage. Many low quality PSUs flat out lie or push extra power to the lesser used 3.3 and 5v rails and have a weak 12v rail which is the most important rail in a modern system. Other lower quality units like your CX can deliver their advertised wattage, but use cheap capacitors that cant handle heat or high loads well and will usually fail early. For a gaming rig with a GTX 1080 you want a tier 1 or 2 PSU http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html. I'd go atleast 550w.
