My friend was having computer issues so I offered to rebuild his system with some spare components I had laying around. He pretty much destroyed his computer by running the CPU without cooling, killing his CPU and motherboard, so I went ahead and replaced it with a complete known working system I had just decommissioned. The only thing that's different about the system is that I didn't bother changing the power supply out because his old one was better anyway.

What happens is: When I turn on the PC, everything powers on fine, fans are on full power like they do during booting, screen loads up, I mash DEL and enter BIOS, it shows me temps and everything, everything is comfy looking, and then after about 15-20 seconds, as soon as the fans stop running full speed, the screen goes black, but the fans all keep running still.

I've tried moving things around to different slots but nothing seems to be helping. I cleared CMOS before I started everything too.

I am at work and can't remember 100% of the specs right now, but I will update later:

Mobo: Asus m5a97 le r2.0
CPU: FX-8320
GPU: Sapphire Radeon 7870
PSU: Something 750W
RAM: Corsair 1333Mhz 8GB (dunno exact model)

Everything in the computer is known to have been in working condition, but that obviously doesn't always means something didn't break. I'm thinking it might be a driver issue because the GPU that was last installed on it was a GeForce 450, but that also doesn't make sense because I'm only entering BIOS and that shouldn't matter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Edit: I put the old 450 GPU in and it works totally fine. Is it a driver issue? Because I'm switching from an nvidia to an AMD card?

As I said in my post, everything is comfy, all temps are very cool. I get just enough time to see them all because my BIOS shows them on the dashboard.
