Full RAM usage causes full system freeze and black screens

I have noticed while doing video editing in adobe after effects that when windiows gives me the low memory warning. If I wait to long to clear the memory my computer will either black screen or freeze to the point where I have to shut it off via power button.

The only things I was able to think it could be are the Power supply, the graphics card or the RAM. I also noticed performance drops while gaming before this started.

My specs:
Thermaltake 700 watt psu
16gb RAM @ 1600Mhz
i5 4670 3.40Ghz
Msi Geforce 970 4GB
WD HDD 1TB
Seagate 256GB 850 Pro

Yeah I have page file disabled. I'll try a custom page file size of 6GB. Also I was thinking would it be better to use an SSD for page file or will it shorten it's lifespan?

It will shorten the life since every time you boot the computer it will create a 6gb file on that ssd. Now chances are by the time you actually hit the SSD limit the drive will be worthless anyways. It will take a few years.

But yes disabling the page file caused the problem since the computer is looking for more memory and can't free any up. You also might want to look into getting more ram since its so cheap. 64GB is $200.
