Hi,

I have an Alienware X51 R2 and I want to change mi GTX780 to a new one, probably the GTX1070. The box is really small so I bought a new box (Sharkoon VG5-W USB 3.0) and a new PSU (Tacens Mars Gaming Vulcano 750W 80 Plus Silver) months ago while I was waiting for the new GPUs to be announced.
Specs of my Alienware:
- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- GPU: GTX780 (1,5GB)
- PSU: Don't really know, sorry. But I think that is not very good and I think that it's making my GPU work bad.

With that said, is there something I should know before moving the components? I think it's possible because I saw other posts here and I found a good tutorial on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJBwdBZzySs&list=FL6uvRlAjPmq2CDH9-u7xfHA&index=1) but not sure if it will work in my case. Is there any component that I won't be able to move? And when buying the GTX1070 you think I would need to change other components?

I appreciate your help and sorry about my knowledge of english and computers >.<

The most important thing is that your motherboard, cpu and ram memory will work okay.
In this case the thing you want to think about is the power supply.
So, GTX 1070 will use around 150W wich would be to much for the standard Alienware PSU.

But with your 750W one you'll definetely be fine!
No direct problems that I can tell, go for it man.

But with alienware I suggest you watch out with the cable management, the cables tend to be just long enough.
So you maybe will need some new one's.

I wish you the best of luck,
Vince
