Hi Guys,

I'm trying to help a friend in installing Windows 8 in a computer that has a Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H.

The problem is that I'm in the US and she is Portugal.
The computer was assembled to run OSX (hackintosh style) and the bios was configured for that.

Moreover, last time I installed windows in a machine it was the 7 and the all BIOS were still legacy, so at the time the procedure was pretty much straightforward.
Nowadays, I guess that with W8 UEFI I might need to configure the BIOS in a particular way.

So, do you guys know of a simple guide to configure Gigabyte Bios for W8 (UEFI)?
It would also be helpful if you guys could tell me of what is the easiest way to reset the BIOS configuration to default in these boards.

thank you!

Solution
It should just load it up like normal.
You could go into BIOS and set the boot priority to the dvd drive save and exit install the windows disc, reboot, let it loa8d eindows ( you will loose all data on the drive) then go back into BIOS and set the hard drive to boot priority.

Hi Zerk2012, thanks for your reply.
That would reset the BIOS, correct?

do I need to change anything else on the BIOS configurations to install W8 with UEFI?

cheers!
