I want to upgrade my bootable OS SSD to NVME SSD for faster performance. I'm trying to avoid having to change the motherboard.
I've read on various websites that it is possible to modify the BIOS from older motherboards to add NVME support... Reading posts from other forums, it almost sounds easy to do, just take the files from newer motherboards' bios and inject them into my Z87 bios... Makes me wonder why MSI didn't do it themselves if it's so easy... So what's the catch ??
Is it even worth doing this ? Would i get 100% NVME performance or just slighty faster speed than my SATA based Samsung Pro ?
Did anyone have success with adding NVME support to the Z87-G45 BIOS ? Or can i download a pre-modded BIOS somewhere ?
And finally, any recommendations on the adapter card i should get ?
Thanks!
