Hi,

** 10 mins after posting this i got a blue screen, BAD_POOL_CALLER (I have been getting multiple bluescreens a month for different reasons (i cant remember them tho)) **

When playing some games, doesnt matter what ones happens on most of them, eg: Overwatch, GTA V, Black Desert Online, Battlefield 4, Star Wars Battlefront, etc... I will use overwatch as the example as its the game i am playing at the moment. I have the settings set on High (Ultra preset) and i get about 50-60fps, at some random point it could be just after a few hours or minutes i will suddenly get about 2-5 fps constantly and i have to close the game completely for a while, it lags my whole pc. I have had this problem for about a year now and i have been searching everywhere and asking lots of people if they know how to fix it but i havent found a solution or anyone else that has this problem. Sometimes the game will be fine but if i play a youtube video in the background while playing the game after a few minutes it will start lagging, if i close the web browser and every application except the game it will still be lagging at the same fps until i completely close the game and wait about 2 minutes. Also changing the settings lower seems to sort of fix this but it still does it, it just takes a longer time. I have looked at MSI Afterburner and everything seems alright except Pagefile usage, the max limit on the scale is 8192MB and the highest value ive seen it go to is around 9400MB. I have tried Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Performance Settings > Advanced > Change, i unticked the auto box at the top, chose custom size and set initial size to 8192MB, and max to 8192MB (Originally it was at 16384MB), this did not fix it either. I have tried updating GPU drivers.

NOTE: This problem happens randomly, it might happen 3 days in a row, 1 day, all day, just once a day, etc... completely random. (or at least it seems random)

I have checked my temperatures,
CPU: 50-70c
GPU: 60-80c ** UPDATE: I have seen my gpu temps go up to 96c **

My system specs are here:

CPU: AMD FX 8120 8-core Black Edition
GPU: ASUS Radeon HD 7870 2GB DirectCU II Edition
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1333MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
PSU: Thermaltake 800W
OS: Windows 10 64bit

PROBLEM: When playing a game at ~60fps, a while later i get 2-5fps and have to close the game completely to stop it.

I ran a FurMark test and noticed that my gpu maxed out at 102c but i watched the fan speeds, at 101c it was at 47% and then when it went to 102c the fans went to 100%, I then restarted the test to see how the fan speed changes as it gets hotter but it stayed at 47% until it got to 102c. I changed the fan speed curve in MSI Afterburner and now the fan speeds change like it should. Before I did this i got 96c max while playing overwatch, but now after changing the fan speed curve I got about 80c max and so far it hasn't had the issue.

Thanks for the reply, ill let you know if this has fixed it.
