We are getting an ISP upgrade and my dad wants to get a new router to go along with it. I was looking at this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PD3HOC
but reviews say it is more expensive than routers that can do the same thing for cheaper. Does anyone know of a wifi router that most importantly has long range, while being as cheap as possible, though the price can be as high as need be.

If you need more WIFI coverage, then multiple WIFI access points is the best answer. All routers are limited to the same transmit power. AND that is only half the battle. Your device has to transmit back. The router power has no impact on that. Higher gain antenna(s) can improve things. The best answer is a wired network segment (Cat5, MoCA, powerline) with a WIFI access point at the end of it. Any WIFI above AC1900 is a waste of money IMO.
