As stated. Using an Asus P8Z77-V LX
mobo and plan to upgrade to a Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3 cpu cooler.

Will it interfere with any of 4 sticks of dual-channel Corsair Vengeance Pro ram? I don't want to have to use low profile vengeance ram due to the higher latency.

Side question. Will combinign higher latency ram with lower latency ram cause both to run at the lower latency?

Solution
The slot closet to the motherboard socket will be rendered useless per this review. You could change the cooler to rid the ram issue.

Side answer: Don't mix and match ram modules, it'll result in too much headache for the price of aesthetics. You should shoot for a kit that has 4x X sticks of rams to populate all your ram slots. If you're yet hell bent on using the Dark Rock Pro 3 cooler then you should go for G.Skill's Ares.
