So I am planning on buying a new CPU & Motherboard for my PC so I can run VR when the next ones are released. What CPU should I buy?

Current Build:
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T2
Motherboard: Gigabyte A-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Storage: Samsung MZ-7TD250BW 840 Series Solid State Drive (SSD) 250 GB Sata 2.5-Inch
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

Obviously the motherboard needs to be changed...
Any Suggestions for a CPU?

Yup, this is probably the cheapest thing to get for VR, any thing lower and it wouldnt really be very VR capable.

Would a i5 6600K work??

Obviously, but it's only merited if you also get a Z170 MB adb a cooler and overclock it. Otherwise, stick to the i5 6500.

EDIT: forget about AMD. Seriously.

Or do you think I should wait for new CPU's to come out?

Only if you find teh i5s to be too expensive. Intel's CPUs are excelent and it is not expected that AMD Zen surpasses them in performance end efficiency, only that it undercuts them in price, which will not be by much anyway if Zen is good. Basically, you can't really go wrong with a skylake build.
