I want to build a gaming PC and I have everything else figured out except if the Hyper 212 evo or 212x is good enough to cool an i7 6700k and which one is better.

I only want an air cooler so if you could recommend any around that price range.

just extra: what are some good case fans? 2x120mm and 1x140mm.

Solution
I would go for the Hyper 212 Evo as a personal preference I don't believe there is actually much in it between these 2 coolers. also for case fans you could something like the following Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 Blue LED Fan - 120mm, 2000RPM (It doesn't have to be blue just an example)

Why are you skimping out on the cooler? If you can't afford a better solution (AIO water, better air coolers), drop the 6700K and either get the 6700 (~$30 savings) or the 6600K (~$100 savings)

So what would be a better air cooler?

be quiet dark rock pro 3, noctua nh-d14 & DEEPCOOL® NEPTWIN V2 are pretty good

What case are you using? It will help determine what cooler may fit. The 212 evo is ok for a budget cooler, will handle mild overclocking depending on your ambient room temps. If you don't intend to overclock a budget cooler would be enough, if you plan to overclock moderate to high then a better cooler would be preferable. As a budget cooler the cryorig h7 would be a better option than the 212 evo, no ram conflicts and slightly better performance with a little less noise.

The dark rock pro 3 is a great cooler, love mine but hard to recommend at the current price unless you're in europe maybe. It's not even showing as currently available in the u.s. (if you're in the u.s.) and one of the last prices I saw for it was over $100 which is nuts in my opinion.

If your case is fairly wide there's the thermalright true spirit 140 power. It runs around $50 but performs on par with the noctua nh-d14 which is usually $20-25 more. It's a tall cooler though so it doesn't fit all cases. You need around 180-200mm cpu cooler clearance (the cooler is 171mm tall).

212 EVo def the go-to CPU cooler; it's the best bang for your buck.

As for extra fans; I really suggest the Corsair AF120 (or AF140) fans.
You can choose the performance or quiet edition.

I got the AF140 Quiet Edition; about 5 of them and I never hear them, while they look really cool!
It comes with rings you can change now and then for different color.

Here you can see my rig when LED's are off with the fans I mentioned: http://imgur.com/6GTcIpw
