When will the Pascal cards "actually" release?

I've been waiting for pascal since last summer, and even got a STRIX 970 to hold me over. (Yeah, I know that sounds like BS hindsight. But I've been planning to sell this card when Pascal comes out from the very beginning.)

So now I am looking at the 1080 aftermarket cards. Every website has them out of stock, and when I search for anything related to restocking, I get articles from May saying "we will see real volume shipments in June"

Well it's July now, and despite every site being sold out, I hear no mention of this issue past June 15. All I see is a million more reviews for additional 1080 models that nobody can buy. The best I hear is that Nvidia tried to push their release far forward to beat any upcoming Radeon cards, but that there is a massive restock, or "actual release" as I've heard it called.

So what is the news on this? My brother is wanting to buy my 970, and I would like to sell it to him before prices rapidly drop.

Are they currently restocking them regularly?

I thought there was going to be a major restock later this week or in the next 2 weeks that would make the cards much more available and drive the price down closer to the actual MRP.

The STRIX model I'm looking at is supposed to be less than $650 IIRC according to some reviews. Currently it is listed at $720 on Newegg and closer to $800-$900 on Amazon, so I was wanting to wait for the "big release" to get the card when it would be cheaper.

But I have heard little about this "big release" with the exception of hearing "second half of July" in a few places.
