Hi! I'm a 16 y/o first time pc builder. My i5 4460 just came in and I remembered seeing how my motherboard (MSI H81M P33) might possibly not have the update to support Haswell Refresh CPUs. I'm extremely tight on money and I'm not sure if I can squeeze enough money out for a cheap cpu that will be a sure thing just to update if it needs it. My question is if I put my 4460 into it and the board is NOT updated, will it fry the CPU and the board itself or will simply nothing happen? Thank you for reading through.
