Hello Everyone about 2 weeks ago I got the Amd Athlon X4 845 (Equivalent to a X4 860k just newer and a bit cheaper)

These are the full specs of my pc right now:

CPU= Amd Athlon X4 845 Quad Core Processor OC @ 3.73Ghz [TURBO MODE AND C6 DISABLED]
GPU= Nvidia GT 740 1GB GDDR5 (Not the best XD)
MOBO: =Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H micro atx fm2+ motherboard
RAM= Patriot (2x4GB)8GB DDR3 OC @ 1704Mhz (Cuz of OC'd CPU)
PSU= EVGA 430W 80+ Certified

So far I downloaded CS:GO which ran very good at 1080p ULTRA and I'm going to be downloading more games like GTA 5, Fallout 4, BF4, Witcher 3 and Etc etc. I know I have to upgrade my GPU, so I found a used GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5 for a $100 my question is I did some digging and found a cpu back from 2009 but still performs very good the i7 950 I found some pictures of tested benchmarks and it is very close to a i5 2500k so my question is should I return my cpu and instead buy a i7 950 which I found for 50-70$ used? but I would have to also by a socket 1366 Motherboard so ya lol Thx if anyone can reply!
:)

You can not play any of those listed games at all...

You need a at least and i5 for GTA V while the others require a hyper threaded i7 to run, I know as I tired an i5 4460 with Witcher 3 and got full blown 100% across all cores. Now I have an i7 4790K and have no issues.

Also you will need a GTX 970/980/980ti, R9 380/90 or higher for these games.

If you just play games casually a good i5 4460, i5 4690/K or get a full blown i7 4790/K. The i5's will be fine unless you want to play major games like Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 what require and i7.

Trust me not even an i5 will cut it (well a i5 4690 is just toe in at beginning capable), I have tried i5 with these games and all I get is stutter due to the near enough 100% usage.

not trying to be rude but I completely disagree with you, the X4 860k is one of the best Budget Cpu and can run all of those games fine at 1080p and the best gpu before bottlenecks is a gtx 960 or r9 370 with that cpu search it up on YouTube and U will see many videos on it and btw the gpu part u said is completely false to run all those games u only need a GTX 750 Ti, people say that's the best budget graphic card and show benchmarks and it can run all of those games at 1080p Medium and High settings even GTA 5 at Ultra obviously not gonna be getting 60+ FPS but getting very respectable 35Fps+ depending on settings.

I obviously wish I could get a i7 or High end builds but I'm only 13 and I have to wait until I'm 16 to get a Job and I think I found something better I found the Intel Xeon E5 2670 it pretty much equivalent to an i7 6700k and the crazy thing is it's under $70 and has 8 core and 16 threads here is video for benchmarks

(Benchmarks With 980 Ti)
COD BLACK OPS 3 1080p ULTRA FXAA http://imgur.com/RMMpse6
FALLOUT 4 1080p ULTRA FXAA http://imgur.com/c8VJ1o1
GTA 5 1080p ULTRA FXAA http://imgur.com/FhHH3kX
The Witcher 3 1080p ULTRA Hairworks On & SSAO http://imgur.com/afNzoYt

As u see the Xeon E5 2670 is pretty much and i7 6700k just by 4-5Fps in some games,only in Fallout 4 and Gta 5 i7 6700k beat it by about 15-30Fps But the FPS is still very good and playable

recent games need higher single core performance.

EG: if you get a i5 6600k with 4ghz it will be fast in any game you mentioned compared to E5 2670 with 3.3ghz, and it cost less.

even a i3 6100 will be better for gaming than a i7 950.

if you get a i3 6100 you will have a lot to upgrade later (i5 6600k or i7 6700k) and already have DDR4 support.

how much is your budget? maybe we can help you build something better/newer

Well yes I do agree w/ u on single core performance as I know that is a fact for CPU's in newer titles.

My budget is not the best cuz as I said before, only 13 and my parents won't give me alot of money :( I have $90 w/me right now and when I return the X4 845 I will get $90 back So my budget = $180 for CPU and Motherboard, Unfortunately I would then have to save up and maybe buy a new gpu next year like a R9 270x or GTX 960 oh and 1 thing I see lots of people argue about the i3 saying that now you must have at least 4 Physical Core rather than 2 w/Hyper Threading
but I do know the skylake series has pretty darn good single core performance as it is better.
Sad thing is I can't get a Xeon cuz the LGA 2011 motherboards are like $170+ so I decided LGA 1155 is my best bet
This is what I thought of (btw I live in Canada)

#1
CPU=i5 2500k (CPU only $90) http://www.kijiji.ca/v-computer-components/oakville-halton-region/intel-core-i5-2500k-quad-core-processor-3-3-ghz-6-mb-cache/1181888827?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

CPU Fan= Deepcool Gammax($10) http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=8_129&item_id=057587

Mobo= MSI H61m P35 ($72 w/Shipping (I know not best chipset I will try to search for H67)
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/MSI-H61M-P35-Intel-H61-LGA1155-DDR3-DVI-VGA-32nm-Motherboard-MicroATX-Mainboard-/301957503132?hash=item464e11d89c:g:dt0AAOSwRjNXOKQY

TOTAL = $172

I still think the i5 2500k is still today a beast CPU (i3 6100 vs i5 2500k both w/GTX 970= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwB1KRMpFdw)

Would appreciate if you can give me ur feedback on this
Thx

The only problem with older generation is you dont have where to go on a next upgrade.

look at this combo:
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Zgqxyc

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Zgqxyc
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Zgqxyc/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($110.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H110M-HDS Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($51.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Crucial 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($28.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $191.97

with this configuration you can just get a better CPU in the future without need to get another mobo or ram.
Lets say this is more futureproof.

and it will handle a GTX 970, RX 480, or GTX 1060 without any problem if you need.
