basically, I was cleaning my friends computer and updating it. it was then that I stumbled upon his graphics card model(up until this we did not know what it was). it was 550ti. we tried it on battlefield 4 this lagged a considerable amount and ran just about at 60 on lowest settings. for his birthday I was considering getting him a new graphics card. I specify in computer hardware but not cheap, budget computers so I struggle with finding something like this. is there a graphics card for under £100 that would improve his gaming experience. he has a older generation i5 but I know that's not what is bottlenecking it.

please reply
thanks

The 750 Ti card should do the trick.

But I have another suggestion, if your not to objective into buying a second hand graphics card.
Then you should have a look on ebay for people who are trading up from what they have to the new line of Nvidia cards released, or who are selling slightly lower end cards in buying a Ati RX 480 card.

An Ati 7900 series is still a good card to have if you can find one on ebay that has been well looked after.
And can often be picked up for £60 to £70 pounds in good working condition.

Just a thought as another option, the only thing a 7900 series card lacks is DX 12 HW features.
But it still produces good Fps in alot of games at 1080p or lower screen resolutions with most graphic detail setting set to high.

Going with the secondhand graphics card is good. but you have to be careful with that. You may meet some fraud dealers or you may get any faulty graphics card. So my suggestion is that you should buy new graphics card from online sellers like amazon or something like that. Because if the newly bought hardware don't work then there us the replacement scheme and you can also return it under customer buyer protection policy.

And now as far as concerned to your budget i think you should go with Nvidia GeForce GT 730 or you can buy little bit higher ended graphic card AMD Radeon R7 360 which costs around 120.

Finally its your call. :)
