About a week ago, my computer started to spin up its fans really really fast for no reason. This would happen if I was just checking my email or watching a youtube video. I would restart my computer and everything would be fine.
However, last night it didn't work. The fans started to spin up super fast, I restarted my PC, and the fans were still spinning at full speed. I decided to wait 30 minutes then turn it back on.
30 minutes later, I pressed the power button, it turned on for half a second, then turned off, and I could smell something like burning plastic coming from my PC. It no longer turns on. Nothing happens when I turn my PC on (except that my keyboard's LEDs came on once).
I have an Alienware Aurora R4, and the fans spinning up for no reason was a bug in their software I believe. As many people on the Internet had the same problem.
Any help? I'm thinking it's the psu.
