I'm looking for a GPU for my first build. My problem is, when asking for advice, and, in many reviews, GPU's are reviewed, rated, and praised in terms of their use in gaming.

I have no intention of ever using my system for gaming. I am going to do DTP, video editing (eventually up to decently high bit depth,) and audio recording.

The mantra appears to be, "if it's good enough for games, it's a good card." Where considering the amount of data a card crunches for a modern game--that seems to be a significant understatement.

Here's my requisite information:
APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE:
This month

BUDGET RANGE: as far from USD $300 as possible. If not possible, up to $400 still

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:
1) Adobe Creative Suite; mostly video editing and associated plugins, color matching
2) Desktop Publishing, flyers to magazines

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg.com, Amazon.com

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: NVIDIA compatible, because Adobe recommends

OVERCLOCKING: ...maybe...?
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: ...maybe...?

MONITOR RESOLUTION: (1920x1080, 1920x1200); eventually 4K

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: starting with dual monitors and an HD TV for screening; would like this selection to work well with a second GPU in future, but not a deal breaker if it can't.

Thanks!
