Hi

I get freezes and sometimes BSOD when i OC my 6600k. It only happens in games.

Specs:
i5 6600K + NH-D15 Noctua
Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI with the latest bios
EVGA G2 750W
DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 16gb
GTX 1070 MSI Gaming X

Stock = Stable
Temperatures always fine, never above 60 degrees.
Ingame crashes with temps lower than 50 degrees.

Tried the following:
4.2 GHZ @ Auto Vcore = Crash
4.2 GHZ @ 1.35 Vcore = Crash
4.2 @ 1.4 Vcore = Crash
4.0 @ 1.4 Vcore = Crash
4.0 @ 1.4 Vcore + Loadline Calibration Set to High + Turbo Boost OFF = Crash
4.2 @ 1.35Vcore + Loadline Calibration Set to High + Underclocking RAM to 1800 from 2133 = Crash

What am i doing wrong? I have read reviews on newegg and some people has the same problem with my mobo. I bet theres some setting out there that i have forgotten to change...
Do i have to change C-states? I actually like having power saving features in idle mode so the system runs cool.

man, i think i have found a solution (MAYBE). i followed this guide http://esupport.gigabyte.com/Login/Index?ReturnUrl=%2f#id:275460

turn off all the C states and CPU EIST and CPU enhanced halt..

i couldnt even OC and play for like 5-10 mins. been playing for hours now on 4,2ghz@1,35V

BSOD 101 typically means to apply more vcore, however, consider these settings.

The important settings to make sure of:

Manually set your RAM frequency, timings, and voltage to stock

These are my system's settings
CPU All Core: 4.7ghz
Cache Ratio: 3.5ghz
CPU Amplitutde: 1000
CPU PLL ORT: Disabled
FCLK Frequency: 1GHZ

CPU Voltage mode: Fixed
CPU Voltage: 1.330v
LLC: Level 1 (flattest for my board, take into account different companies have the levels at different spots)
DRAM: 1.2v
VCCIO 0.950v
VCC PLL: 1.200v
VCCSA: 1.050v
CPU Internal PLL: 0.900v

Getting 4.5 GHZ on non K cpu i5 6500 at 1.35 V. Can reduce voltage probably. The cpu id 4.1 on 1.2 V.

Hi, Just checked you motherboard it seems. THe board has a weak VRm 4+3 and the caps are 5K as opposed to 10K in good oc boards. But it should still be able to get you 4.2 GHz, since the skylake cpu's are low power quad core.

I would suggest to do the following while overclocking check you LLC control most motherboards have it. Set it to Max. Enable all settings related to oc. Also disable c-state, turbo, intel speed shift technology etc. Put cpu core and cache ratio as 255.50.

Keep CPU VCore 1.3 V. Keep Ram at 2133 mhz and try 4.0 and 4.2.

If successful I would recommend keep cpu 4.0 ghz and Ram 2666 mhz (Dual channel). If nothing happens rma your board and CPU both.
