Does it matter which USB 3.0 Port I use?

First time building a PC. I have a Gigabyte Gaming 7 Z170 and it has 2 USB 3.0 Ports for my EVOLV PWM Hub to use(the big blue thing here). I have for now plugged it in the second port instead of the first one(since it's closer to the edge of the board). But I am wondering if I should use the ports in chronological order, unless it doesn't cause any problems in the future.

Yep.
On that side of things that's fine.

Some people are a bit confused on how to use that HUB in general. I don't have it but looking at the pictures, I suggest considering to avoid it unless you see a benefit (may or may not help cable management).

I'm not clear if the front USB3 cable is forced to use the HUB or if that is optional. The front USB3 connector goes to a cable, which goes to the HUB, then you attach the USB3 cable to that and finally the motherboard.

(so you MAY be able to just attach both cables and bypass the HUB)

For the FANS I tell most people to run them directly to the motherboard (or can use the power supply direct if they are non-variable, 3-pin fans). So, I'm not clear who really benefits from this HUB.

Motherboard:

1) KILLER NIC->
It seems to be a common problem that people have problems with the addon software for the Killer NIC. The basic Windows drivers seem to work fine. I suggest NOT installing it at first, then make a System Image and/or Restore Point before installing the extra software.

2) READ the manual as there are several features such as headphone GAIN (a switch).

3) Fan control - I would adjust this in the BIOS, but also install and optimize the software in Windows (Windows software replaces BIOS settings once it's booted up)

Other:
*That's a neat looking board with a plethora of features. If in doubt though, don't install all the software for the motherboard. Install the basic drivers etc for Windows, test then add software a bit at a time in case of issues.
