So I upgraded to Windows 10 about a month ago via clean install and I like it so far but I've noticed recently that my system will randomly turn on. At first I though it might be power surges but I had a friend of mine test the outlets in my house and they were fine. Next I checked power settings in the BIOS but found nothing. My power settings in Windows is set to balanced (1 hour for monitor sleep & never to turn PC off). Also my updates are current. At this point I'm not sure what the next step I should take is, any help is appreciated.

Another thing I've noticed is a few times i've turned off the system my mouse & keyboard LEDs stay on.

Solution
if its on and the ip is pinged it will turn on the PC.
I have most often found this to be the reason for phantom startups.
also check the BIOS/UEFI as there should be a setting there too

I did find this link I'm going through, obviously wont know until the system if off for awhile if the changes I made are actually working though.

EDIT: Wake Timer was enabled, wondering if it was turning on the PC for updates...

So I went into BIOS > Advanced > ACPI Configuration and noticed a settings called RTC Alarm Power On which has 3 settings, Enabled, Disabled, OS Only which from the details allows (was set to OS Only) the OS to turn the system on for w/e reason. I did disable it so hopefully between doing that and going through my device manager settings my system will stop turning on.

I did however notice when I restarted my system to go into BIOS that the system was updating and I think this was the cause of my system turning on. In the Windows Update screen it does have two options for how updates are installed, 1: Automatic 2: Notify to schedule updates. Do you think selecting the second option will help?
