Is the I7-6700K compared to the I7-6800K Worth the upgrade?

Im kinda debating between this two CPUS i was thinking of getting the 6700K but then someone reckon that if i wanted to do VR or 4K gaming that the 6800K would be the better choice.
Im doing mostly gaming and some slightly video editing. I do also plan on getting 2 GTX 1080TI when they come out in the far future.

I can only find 3.4GHz for the 6800k and thats the only real problem i have with it. Since im coming from a I7-4790k 4.0Ghz.

Will losing the 0.6Ghz really matter?

The i7-6800k is a completely different platform (X99), it is a slower clock but it has 6 cores vs the 6700k's 4 cores.

That said the 4 faster cores of the 6700k have proven it to be better in gaming than the 6800k. To be honest its a waste of money to go up to the X99 platform for that.

The 6700k will run 2 1080's on a good board, and give you just as much if not better performance. Don't let anyone tell you you need a 6 core processor for gaming or VR that is absolutely not true. The GPU especially determines the system's ability to do 4k or VR gaming.
