Computer disabling Internet?

My friend recently helped me build a PC and while I may have decent computer knowledge, a lot of the technical details went pretty much over my head. I'm running Windows 10 and it's been working great for about two weeks but today I encountered a strange problem. The internet (using Ethernet) dies after about 3 minutes after a reboot. Consistently, right before it dies I noticed the computer makes the sound like a disc is being stopped. The strange part is that not only does my computers internet stop working, my phone also loses the ability to connect via wifi, almost as if my computer is blocking any devices from using the connection. To get the connection running for 3 minutes again I have to disable the Ethernet, restart, and then reenable the Ethernet.

Not really sure what could cause something like that, hardware, software, or my internet provider, so I figured I'd post a general description of the problem and if knowing any specs would help I can provide them here.

Thanks

Have you checked whether your network adapter is updated properly you can go to your motherboard manufacturer site and download the latest firmware, even if that doesnt work get an extenral network adapter just to test if everything goes fine thereafter, although the issue is peculiar we can just try to resolve it

Since you don't know much about this stuff, i can tell you this.
The computer doesn't make the rest of the appliances stop working.
Ergo, if your computer can't connect, and your phone can't either, that would mean that something's wrong with your router.
The router is the little box that gives you wifi.

Thanks for your response but perhaps I undersold my level of knowledge. I know what a router is, and while that may be what is causing the problem, my PC is definitely what is triggering it because my phone's internet works fine if my PC's Ethernet is disabled/unplugged or if the PC is shut down completely. It's only upon reboot that both devices lose access.

I never even heard of such thing existing. The reference is beyond me.
I still suspect the problem is with the router hardware.
I heard of a router being overloaded because of simultaneous connection requests. Perhaps it's one of those things? I don't suppose it's possible to analyze that though. Are you using static or dynamic ip? Also try plugging the ethernet cable into another port on your router jic.

I believe I'm using dynamic ip because I've done nothing to set up static. I tried different ports but that didn't help. I tried updating the Ethernet driver through the built in settings, but that is allegedly already up to date, and it's difficult to manually search for drivers with 3 minutes of Internet access. I'm mostly confused as to why it would stop working all of a sudden after working flawlessly for weeks. I'll try contacting my service provider but we all know how helpful that usually is..
