Which 1.0TB ssd should I go for and why? The new Intel 540 series or, the current Samsung 850 evo? I don't understand the technical jargon here. What is the difference between Samsung's 3-D Vertical and Intel's TLC? List the pros, cons, benefits of each over the other.

I don't necessarily have to buy from newegg. These are the one's I am considering for purchase. I am open to suggestions about other manufacturers too. This would be my first SSD purchase. I have chosen such a high capacity mainly because I want to install several games on it. I like to play a lot of games at the same time switching in-between so it doesn't get boring for me ;-)

SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 1TB 3-D Vertical (SSD)

Intel 540s Series 2.5" 1TB TLC (SSD)

Of my multiple SSD's here in the house, I have 3 x Samsungs (840 and 850), 2 x Sandisk, 1 x Kingston.
All are way faster than the WD Blue over there in the house server.

The 850 EVO is a good choice.
But advertised numbers from Intel and Samsung aren't a lot different for those 2 drives.

Intel is slightly cheaper and has one year extra warranty. But according to thessdreview where in this benchamrk
Intel-540s-480GB-30GB-Write.png
the intel 540 1TB actually scored below a WD Blue 1TB hdd o_O

In newegg both ssd have 5-year warranty but on samsung's own site it lists the 850 evo 1tb as having 4-yr warranty also the controller is MGX while in newegg it is having MEX.

All this is confusing the hell out of me.

I find that graph awfully hard to believe.

So that site must be biased against Intel. Hmm I figured there must be something fishy too. I see you have both the samsung and intel master badges. Why don't you recommend me one of them?
